AMISH FURNITURE REFINISHING

Like any household items, homes, vehicles, ect, furniture will accumulate dings and scratches as the years go by. The trend toward the industrial farmhouse look has had the secondary benefit of being great at hiding minor accidental damage. But if you are looking to have your furniture refinished for whatever reason, here is some information to get started. General household wear and tear are not covered by manufacturer's warranty. Select accidents may be covered under our Guardsman FurnitureProtection plans purchased before the furniture is delivered. Amish furniture refinishing is a complex task, but it will make a 20-year-old table look brand new again. First, the finish is sanded down to bare wood. Then its stained or painted. Then a coat of sealer is applied. Lastly, a coat or two of durable Catalyzed Conversion Varnish is applied.

Our most common request is for table tops to be refinished. This makes sense since this is often the most used surface in the home. A table top will cost $400-$1000 to refinish depending on size. If the tabletop was treated with chemical furniture polishes it will require more effort to sand it down to bare wood. When refinishing a table, it's best practice to also refinish any table leaves at the same time for a consistent look. Once refinished the table will look brand new and ready for another generation of service!

Amish furniture items that have complex turnings or moldings will cost more to refinish. At this time we only offer refinishing on furniture we sold (through the original craftsman). To get started, fill out the product service request form.  For all other Amish furniture refinishing we recommend Indian Run Restoration, a local Amish repair and refinishing company. Address: 413 Cains Rd, Gap, PA 17527. Phone: (717) 442-9290
