Amish Cedar Hope Chests

Our Amish solid wood hope chests will last the test of time. Everything you see here was handcrafted in Lancaster County, PA just miles from our store. The hope wood chest is a long-standing tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation. Dating as far back as the 15th century, cedar chests were used to collect items such as clothing, towels, bed linens, household linens, quilts, and occasionally dish wares, by unmarried young women in anticipation of married life.
